The President's Cabinet

.

The President of the United States nominates, and the United States Senates confirms or rejects the nominations under its duty for "Advice and Consent" on Cabinet appointments.  The President's Cabinet is composed of the heads of the large Departments of the government.  They are called "Cabinet Secretaries."  There are other members of the Cabinets representing special projects of the President in power.  All are subject to Senate Confirmation.

The following sites take you to the pages that tell you about the Cabinet Departments of the United States Government:

The Department of State

The State Department is the oldest and the most senior of the Cabinet Departments.  It performs the same functions as the "Foreign Ministries" of many other countries.

The Confirmation Process - This page provides information about the Senate Confirmation Process and location of the committees of the United States Senate that handle the Confirmation proceedings.
