Patronage Positions for an Agency - Open to be Filled or Pending

Patronage positions with specific terms of office - the concept.

There are several hundred patronage nominations of the President of the United States that extend for statutory terms. These appointments often require a particular party designation. These appointees do not serve "At the Pleasure of the President" but service for a specific number of years and then must be reappointed or replaced.

These appointments also require confirmation by the United States Senate before they become effective. This list is not complete that does show positions presently opened, or there will be open in the future. The date of the openings is noted by political party, that a specific party is required and date when open. From time to time partial term nominations must be made because of inability to serve (death, illness,) or resignation of the incumbant appointee.
