Pre March 2008 Information and Comments

Those seeking appointments in the Executive Branch need to think ahead - to think and plan ahead to get themselves or those they support for a position in the future.  One aspect of such long term considerations is the list of potential candidates for the Presidency in 2008.  Assuming George W. Bush completes his second term in office, there will be a new President on January 20 2009.  The transition process actually begins as each candidate begins to organize, however informally.  At some point in each campaign a transition team forms to consider many issues which would face a new President - including staffing the many administrative and policy positions.  This process has obvious political advantages, but more important - faces the reality of preparing to govern by having policy and staff in mind all through the campaign.

We are tracking potential candidates for the Presidency in 2008 and when the information becomes apparent, who is in charge of personnel issues in the campaign, and details of when and how things are happening.  Being prepared is critical for anyone seeking an appointment.  Part of being prepared is knowing who has or will have influence in who does what in another administration.  If you have information about candidates and campaigns, please send them to us at Director@Presidential-Appointments.org.
